A big thank you from Billie’s family to everyone working on the campaign and organising fundraising events and to the hundreds of people who have donated to help this little girl get the treatment she needs.

In just under four months there have been nearly 2,500 donations on www.justgiving.com/BillieButterflyFund and numerous fundraising events.  Donations have come from all over the country and all over the world. We are overwhelmed by people’s kindness and generosity. Billie’s story has touched so many people.

On Billie’s Just Giving page there are now 99 pages of messages from donors. We thank you all for your amazing generosity.  On this page we cannot possibly list all the kind people who have donated on Just Giving but please do look at the messages to see how much kindness and love has been shown to Billie by so many people and look below at the list of amazing sums raised at fundraising events.

 

St Peter’s School, Lympstone have raised a further £1,076.73

This amazing sum has been raised by St Peter’s School in Lympstone at a number of events including their Carol Service. This is in addition to the £200 raised earlier. Thank you all so much.

 

Paul Keating raised £558 at the Cellar Door on Exeter Quay

Thanks to Paul for organising this music night and Dan Poulson owner of the Cellar Door for the use of his club and for donating all sales of vodka caramel shots, Sounds like a good night!

 

Darren Tordoff raised £330 at his music event in Huddersfield

Billie Butterfly Christmas Charity Ball in Exeter raised £4,228.75

Congratulations to Kelly Forrester and all her helpers for this great result. At the Ball they also raised £1,868 for the Paediatric Oncology Unit at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital who have given such great support to Billie.

 

St Leonard’s Primary School raised another £401.48

Billie’s own school has raised another £401.48 – this time from the sale of wristbands. Thank you so much and thanks for all the support you give to Billie

 

St Peter’s School raised £200

Many thanks to Grant McAree who donated the £200 when all the members of the Gents of St Peter’s group abseilled off Bickleigh Viaduct. 

 

Penny Batchelor raised £524 on her sponsored walk

Exeter Chiefs rugby team raised £1,543.66

Congratulations and many thanks to the players of Exeter Chiefs who raised £1,543.66 for Billie Butterfly Fund during their Choptober campaign – growing “chops” for Billie. The picture shows our Donna from the fundraising team with some of the players.

 

 

 

Mervyn Gratton raised £120 singing for Billie

This is a great story. Mervyn sent a cheque for £120 saying he has been singing to raise money for Billie Butterfly Fund in Sidmouth and in the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter. Many thanks, Mervyn – that is fantastic!

 

 Mark & Neil,  the amazing Edinburgh to Exeter cyclists – final total raised £6,970.76!

This is the final figure for the extraordinary ride by Mark Mirko and Neil Tarn. They cycled from Edinburgh to Exeter in 2 days. We still can’t quite believe they did it. Thank you so much Mark and Neil and your support team.

 

Chris Bongard, Emily and friends raised £3,475 at their Billie Butterfly Ball in Cheshire

Chris, nephew of Billie’s nana Kath and grandad Pete, raised this amazing sum at the Billie Butterfly Ball with the help of Emily and all their friends and members of Toft Cricket Club in Cheshire – and apparently there is more to come!

 

Sarah Hawker and daughter Anna raised £1,020 at their coffee morning in Suffolk

This is amazing. Aged only 6-8 years old they walked from Broadsands Beach to Paignton Harbour. Thanks all of you.

Dress like a Butterfly week raised £1,866.28

This amazing sum was raised in Exmouth. Congratulations to Kim Brady and everyone involved. Thanks to all the stall holders (Tim on the card stall raised over £500 on his own). Thanks also to the 13 year old lads who ran the tombola wearing wings and tutus – Oliver Brady, Benjamin Kay, Louis Lloyd and Sam Thomas. Tremendous effort all round.

 

The Yoga and Therapies Day in Exeter raised £710

Massive thanks to Jill Hurley for organising this successful Yoga and Therapies day at The Thistle Hotel, Exeter. Thanks to Jill and Jenny for the Yoga morning and all the therapists who gave their time free for the afternoon sessions. Also thanks for the kind donations of cakes and books for sale and the generous raffle prizes donated by individuals and Exeter traders.

Christian and Alex Brook donated the winning ticket at the Munchkins Nursery Grand Draw

This extraordinary act of generosity took everyone by surprise when the Lord Mayor of Exeter drew the winning ticket bought by Christian Brook. The prize entitled son Hugo to a free place at Munchkins Day Nursery. There were amazing scenes at the Halloween Party in Stockleigh Pomeroy Village Hall. Militsa Pribitech-Gill, family, and friends organised all sort of scary activities attended by a huge crowd of children and parents in a brilliantly decorated hall. Billie was well enough to attend which was a real bonus. In the bottom left picture she is seated on the right next to little brother Joe.

 

 Hartnells Halloween Fun Day raised £410.82

Uphall Primary School, Ilford, Essex raised £1,041.77 at their Food Fayre for Billie

 Charity Gig for Billie at Thorverton near Exeter raised £1,288.14

This event, raising a fantastic sum, was organised Jayne Mirko & friends. Jane is the sister of one of the amazing cyclists who rode from Edinburgh to Exeter for Billie. So double thanks to the family for their support.

Trinity School, Teignmouth non-uniform day raised £702.04

Huddersfield Race Night raises £2,520

Around 120 people attended the race night organised by Billie’s uncle and aunt, Ben and Siobhan, raising a fantastic £2,520 for Billie Butterfly Fund. Great prizes were auctioned including donations from Manchester United, Celtic and Liverpool Football Clubs.  Everyone agreed it was a great evening. Many thanks to all who donated prizes.  A further £141 was raised by Peggy Dries and everyone at the NHS PMU in Huddersfield from a bake day, raffle and book sales – thank you Peggy.

 

Billie Butterfly’s Big Bake raised £1,603

Tamsin, Ruth and their many helpers raised a magnificent £1,603 at Billie Butterfly’s Big Bake at the Boniface Centre in Crediton. Cakes appeared from everywhere, thanks to the generosity of local people. There was also jewelry and other crafts by local experts. MP Mel Stride (see photo) came to show his support and drew the raffle.

 Aura Orange raised £3,600 at their Dance event in Wolverhampton

THEY DID IT!!  Edinburgh to Exeter by bike in 2 days – and so far they have raised £3,216

 Mark Mirko and Neil Tarn left Edinburgh just after midnight on Friday 30 September and, after cycling 450 miles, incredibly arrived in Exeter at 9.30pm the next day. Most of us thought this would be impossible. They were met at the Bishop Blaize on Exeter Quay by family, friends, Billie Butterfly supporters and Billie’s little brother Joe and grandparents. Their target was £2,500 so already they have way exceeded this amount. Their fundraising publicity said “One mission – one weekend – one little girl”. They have certainly fulfilled their mission and far away in Texas that little girl will get the benefit. Thank you Mark and Neil.

 

BBQ and sponsored walk at Kelly Bray, Cornwall raised £1,768.49

On a drizzly day in Cornwall, Richard Bongard, his children and friends together with Jim and his sponsored walk raised this great sum. Richard, a retired Primary School teacher, invited people he used to teach over 15 years ago and was a little surprised to see how tall and old they are now!

Bishops Blaize raised £494.97

Nicky Chadwick and helpers raised this money at the disco in the Bishop Blaise and in various collections. Bishops Blaise is becoming a key focal point for Billie’s campaign and has helped raise considerable sums at various events. Thank you Nicky.

 

Margaret & Jane’s Coffee Mornings raised £2,462.85

Many thanks to Margaret and Jane for raising this amazing sum at coffee mornings in Torquay and Exeter. The funds were boosted by a raffle which included rounds of golf donated by 12 local clubs.

 

Cake sale at Pynes Hill raised £116.83

Bristol Half Marathon – raised £643.49

Busking for Billie  raised £1,454.70

Massive thanks to all the musicians who offered their time and talent for the pleasure of our ears, they rocked Exeter’s socks off: Celine dos Santos, Honey Sol, Leigh Coleman, Steve Down, Kat Savage and the Mama Stone’s artist development students, Marc Taylor, Adam Moran and his amazing impro rapping skills, Adam Isaac, Jimmy Ireland, Emma Lauran and Richard James.  There was a really impressive turnout for the event and local people were very interested in hearing about Billie and how she is doing, many had already read her story in the Express and Echo!

Special thanks to Celine dos Santos and Adam Isaac who organised the day. The Princesshay and City Centre management who did their best to make this event happen, and the security team who set up the stage with the sound system… twice as we had to move.

Billie Butterfly Ball

On 7 September cheques totaling £12,231.76 were handed over to Billie’s parents Sam and Terri by Chris Bryant and Amy Phillips from Munchkins Day Nursery in Exeter. This fantastic sum was raised at the very successful Billie Butterfly Ball held on 20 August.  Thanks to Amy and her team for all the hard work planning a great evening. And there is still more to come.  The owner of the nursery, Chris Bryant, has made the incredibly generous offer of a free full time place for one child from 8 weeks to five years.
